Simple answer: Just write. Determine what genre of book you want to write before beginning. You may either create an outline or just let it flow. Don’t focus on editing, chapter titles, or page count. This is the part where you create your theme, timeline, and characters.
After your initial consultation, we set a deadline for the release of your book and work backwards. Deadlines for each part of publishing will be set. During editing is when your cover will be designed. We prefer to edit and publish books that use our cover design services (Stephanie Kamion), as other cover designers do not match the requirements of printing. Our Marketing Manager, Sheridan Labbé, will begin to assist you in the branding and release of your book after you have completed your first manuscript.
Well that my friend depends on you.
If your manuscript is already written, that’s great! You are ahead of the game. You may submit your manuscript for review in PDF format only by emailing us at info@marandaevans.com. A summary of the book, outline, and the first 20 pages are required for submission review.
Depending on the genre and length of the book, editing is usually a “three-time” process. Every editor is different. Our editor will discuss more details during your initial consultation. Editing could take anywhere between 2 months and 6 months, depending on deadlines, communication, book genre, and page count.
Yes! Victorian Publishing does not retain any copyright privileges to your manuscript or the published book. We are simply listed as the publishing company on the copyright page, our logo will be placed on the back cover, and we provide multiple options as to how you would like your book distributed. See publishing contract for more details.
Yes. Our CEO & Editor, Maranda Evans, also specializes in ghostwriting for multiple genre types. The book will list you as the author and VP as the publisher. No other names are mentioned, including Maranda Evans.
Although it helps if you have an idea in mind for your book cover, it is not required that you create it. Our graphic designer also provides consultations and creative ideas based on the theme and a summary of your book.
Every book should have a book launch and signing event. It is one of the most important days for an author. It is “Your Time to Shine”. Our event planner is experienced and specializes in planning this particular type of event. Are you in a different city? No worries. We offer virtual event planning as well. Actually, Victorian Publishing as a whole is national!
