Randy Evans January 1, 1969 - March 14, 2004 Every year, Maranda Evans, daughter of Randy Evans commemorates his home-going anniversary, March 14th by asking people to wear purple on that day and posting a picture with the hashtag #PurpleForRandy. The reasoning behind this hashtag trend is to honor Randy, bring awareness to domestic violence (which is the cause of his passing in 2004), and give his children a positive act to participate in on a difficult day.
This year, we have purchased custom #PurpleForRandy socks. Proceeds from the sale of these socks will be split between The Troubled Movement's Randy Evans Survivor Fund and The Purple for Randy Foundation, a domestic violence survivor non-profit organization (partner of TTM).
Show your support today by purchasing a pair of socks, wearing purple on March 14th, and bringing awareness to domestic violence.
From 2003 to 2004, there were 1,036,000 cases of domestic violence; 174,620 of which were males. Males experience domestic violence too. Resource: (https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/ipv9310.pdf)
